The Best Cellar Basement Finishing System (BCBFS) is a basement finishing system that incorporates the four key suggestions from the US Dept of Energy.

Basement Walls

Our basement finishing wall panels are constructed from materials that do not contain any paper, wood, fabric, or fiberglass. The wall panels are water and basement mold resistant. In fact, the panels scored a perfect 10 out of 10 when tested. All exterior walls receive minimum R-11 closed cell insulation board, that along with the wall panel itself, give an insulation value exceeding the recommended R-11 number mentioned earlier. Our walls are extremely durable, easy to clean (even pen and marker), can be decorated in any color, can hide wiring at any time, and are strong enough to hang a big screen TV (without worrying about studs).

Basement Ceilings

Best Cellar basement ceilings are primarily made from mineral wool, and carry a lifetime warranty against basement mold growth. These high quality ceiling tiles also carry a 30 year warranty against sagging. Again, the system components, including the ceiling tiles are designed to be used in a basement environment to not only look great, but to last a long, long time, and protect your basement from the must smells and odors that are a result of mold growth.

Basement Floors

Our basement floor systems, like the wall and ceiling systems described above, are designed to be installed in a basement environment, and designed to protect that environment from basement mold growth in a couple of different ways. First, the materials that make up the carpet, the tile, and the wood finishes, are not food sources for mold growth. These materials come in a variety of color choices and carry a limited lifetime warranty! Also, these materials act as vapor barriers, as they are installed slightly up off the basement floor to allow air to circulate to the edges of the floor. The result: no more wet basement floors!

Breathable

Finally, our basement finishing system can include a          Sani-De Basement Air System that    not only circulates that air, but dries and cleans the air. This system is designed to keep the relative humidity below 50%, a number at which mold cannot grow. The system can circulate up to 2200 sq ft of basement space, and is Energy Star rated for low cost performance.

The materials used to finish the trim, windows, doors, and support poles are also non-food source materials, and also come in a variety of finishes.
